DFA: 30 New Covid-19 Cases Among Filipinos Abroad Reported

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Thursday reported 30 more infections among overseas Filipinos in the Asia Pacific, Europe, and Africa, raising the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases to 8,792.

The DFA said the number of countries with Covid-19 cases among Filipinos rose to 64 after another country in the African region was added to the list.

Meanwhile, 17 new recoveries and two fatalities were also registered, bringing the number to 5,254 and 592, respectively.

“With these new developments, the DFA shall continue to keep track of the status of our nationals abroad and stands ready to earnestly assist and facilitate repatriations whenever possible,” the DFA said in a statement.

Those undergoing treatment currently number 2,946 – a total of 120 are in the Asia-Pacific region, 484 in Europe, 2,222 in the Middle East/Africa, and 120 in the Americas. (PNA)
