The Office of Civil Defense (OCD-5) said on Tuesday at least 2,073 families or 9,238 persons are staying in various evacuation centers due to floods brought by Tropical Storm Enteng.

In a phone interview, Gremil Alexis Naz, OCD-5 spokesperson, said the displaced families are from Albay, Camarines Sur, Camarines Norte, Masbate, and Sorsogon.

Naz said 1,695 families, or 7,613 persons, are inside 101 evacuation centers, while 378 families, or 1,625 persons, are outside evacuation centers or staying with relatives.

“We continue to coordinate with the different local DRRMOs of the affected families to ensure that they are monitored and will be given necessary social services,” he said.

He said Camarines Sur has the highest number of families staying in evacuation centers, with 660 families, or 2,543 persons; followed by Albay with 605 families, or 3,024 persons; and Sorsogon with 453 families, or 2,037 persons; Camarines Norte with 351 families, or 1,612 persons; and Masbate with four families, or 22 persons.

He said 194 storm-related incidents were reported: 187 were floods and seven were rain-induced landslides.

On the extent of damage to property, six houses were partially damaged by the weather disturbance: two in Mobo, Masbate, and four in Daet, Camarines Norte.

“The houses were reported to be hit by fallen trees. It will be validated by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD),” Naz said.

He said nine national roads and bridges are affected.

“Three in Camarines Norte are not passable to all types of vehicles, two are not passable to light vehicles, and four are one-lane passable only,” he said.

Meanwhile, the latest report of the DSWD-Bicol on the ongoing response to Enteng showed the agency has provided PHP7.1 million in humanitarian aid to affected communities and stranded passengers at various regional ports.

DSWD-Bicol has PHP210 million worth of stockpiles of relief supplies and standby funds, ready for deployment. (PNA)
