The Office of the Vice President (OVP) provided relief aid to flood-affected families in Antipolo City and Taytay, Rizal on Friday following the onslaught of Severe Tropical Storm Enteng in the country.

“Through the OVP’s Disaster Operations Center (DOC), close to 600 families were given assistance during the agency’s simultaneous relief operations along different evacuation centers,” the OVP said in a news release.

These include 451 families in eight evacuation centers in Brgy. San Jose, Antipolo, and 141 displaced families at the Exodus Elementary School and Bagong Pag-asa daycare center in Taytay.

Some 592 families got the OVP relief boxes which contain hygiene kits, blankets, sleeping mats, mosquito nets, slippers, and expandable water jugs, among others.

“Aside from relief boxes, more than 1,800 canned goods were also given to affected residents in Antipolo,” the OVP said.

Before relief aid distribution to affected residents, the OVP earlier provided hot meats and bottled water to health workers and first responders in Rizal. (PNA)
