Some 2 million Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) members or beneficiaries of members in Pangasinan are targeted for the provincial government’s Government Unified Incentives for Medical Consultation (Guiconsulta) program.

Under the program, PhilHealth members who will avail of the agency’s Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (Konsulta) will be given fare and food allowance.

Pangasinan Governor Ramon Guico III, in a media interview Wednesday, said the provincial goverment has allocated around PHP400 million to PHP500 million to roll out the program this year.

“We are investing on your health. Our objective is to make everyone happy because they are healthy,” he said.

Konsulta is a comprehensive outpatient benefits mandated by the Universal Health Care Law that provides free access to medical consultations, health risk screening and assessment, selected laboratory and diagnostic testing, and selected drugs and medicines in line with patient’s pre-existing condition.

Each PhilHealth member and their beneficiaries are entitled to PHP1,700 Konsulta benefits annually.

All 14 government-run hospitals in Pangasinan are accredited Konsulta providers, Guico said. (PNA)
