Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman on Saturday emphasized the crucial role of Filipino women in driving progress under the vision of a “Bagong Pilipinas” (New Philippines).

In her message on International Women’s Day and National Women’s Month, Pangandaman called for true equality and the continued empowerment of women.

“Today, we honor the strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit of every Filipina — the mothers who sacrifice endlessly, the daughters who dream fearlessly and all those who continue to break barriers despite the odds,” she said.

She emphasized that in building an inclusive and progressive nation, Filipinas must be at the forefront, ensuring a future where no one is left behind.

Pangandaman stressed that in every home, workplace, and corner of the nation, women are “pillars of strength, love and hope.”

She said when women are empowered in all sectors, families thrive, communities prosper and the nation moves forward stronger and more united.

“Time and again, we have overcome challenges, broken glass ceilings and proven that we are unstoppable,” Pangandaman said.

This year’s National Women’s Month theme, “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas,” reflects optimism and hope and symbolizes future where women’s lives are truly uplifted.
