The Philippines has fully vaccinated a total of over 70 million Filipinos against Covid-19 with 14.1 million still receiving a third dose or first booster shots as of June 1.
No severe Covid-19 cases so far have been recorded by health authorities despite having an uptick of active cases, Vaccine Expert Panel member, Dr. Rontgene Solante, said.
The vaccine expert group is waiting for Covid-19 vaccine producers to submit an emergency use authorization request, which would allow alternative vaccines to be administered as booster doses for children.
The number of Covid-19 cases continues to decline nationally, breaching the lowest recorded average prior to the peak of the Omicron variant, a health official said.
