After six years, countless outfit changes, and a love life that kept the internet guessing, Emily Cooper is hanging up her beret for good. Lily Collins confirmed on May 21 that the upcoming sixth season of Emily in Paris will be the Netflix series’ final chapter.

Collins made the announcement through a personal video message to fans, saying that after six unforgettable years of playing Emily Cooper, the upcoming sixth season will be their last. She promised that the final season will deliver everything audiences love about the show and serve as the ultimate chapter in Emily’s adventure of a lifetime.

The actress, who has played the wide-eyed American marketing executive since the show’s debut in 2020, did not hold back on the emotion. She shared that the entire cast and crew are giving everything they have to make the farewell season worthy of the sendoff, with plans to celebrate the finale in the most chic way yet.

Creator Darren Star described the experience of making the show as the trip of a lifetime, expressing deep gratitude to Netflix, Paramount, and the fans who joined them on the journey. He closed with a promise that the final chapter would be one worth the wait.

Production on season 6 is already underway, and the show is swapping its Parisian rooftops for a new Mediterranean backdrop. Netflix has confirmed that filming is taking place in Greece, the destination that season 5 pointed toward when Gabriel sent Emily an invitation to meet him there following her breakup with Marcello.

Star had previously teased the Greece storyline, hinting that Gabriel’s invitation opens the door for the two to remain in each other’s lives in a meaningful way, setting up what could be a full-circle ending for the show’s central love story.

Emily in Paris has been a consistent performer for Netflix since its surprise debut. The series has spent a combined 32 weeks on Netflix’s Global Top 10 English TV chart and reached number one in 90 countries. Season 5, which premiered in December 2025, pulled in 13.5 million viewers in its opening weekend alone.

A premiere date for the sixth and final season has not been confirmed, but a late 2026 release is widely expected.
