The city government of Manila will start holding 24/7 vaccination on Sunday night to accommodate more people who wanted to get vaccinated against Covid-19 amid the threat of more contiguous Delta variant.

In his Facebook live update on Saturday evening, Manila Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso said three vaccination sites will begin the 24-hour operation at 7 p.m. now that Metro Manila is under the most restrictive enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) until Aug. 20.

Domagoso said the local government will abide by the Department of Health’s (DOH) guideline not to allow walk-in vaccinees to prevent overcrowding in the vaccination sites.

“Tomorrow ang bakunahan, ayon sa mahigpit na bilin ng DOH kailangan po wala raw walk-in, susundin natin. First time natin magbabakunahan under ECQ (The vaccination will start Sunday, according to the strict DOH guideline, walk-in are now allowed, we will follow. It is the first time that we will do vaccination while under ECQ),” Moreno said.

He said the three vaccination centers that will operate 24/7 can be found at the Isabelo Delos Reyes Elementary School in Tondo, Holy Trinity Academy in Sampaloc, and Jacinto Zamora Elementary School in Pandacan.

Each site will have allotted 2,000 doses of Covid-19 vaccines, he added.

“May stub na ibibigay ang bawat barangay at may color coding yun, yung stub me oras, me lugar kung saan kayo pupunta (Stubs will be distributed in the barangays, it has color coding, with time indicated, and the vaccination site where you should go),” Domagoso said.

He said vaccinations on Sunday will only be for the first dose of the individuals under the priority list A1 or the medical front-liners, A2 or senior citizens, A3 or persons with comorbidities, and A5 or the indigent population.

Meanwhile, the first dose vaccinations will still be done in the city’s 15 regular vaccination sites from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday and still no walk-in will be accepted.

Individuals who are scheduled to get vaccinated will be allowed to go out of their residence even under ECQ by presenting their stubs as proof of their schedule, their QR code, and their ID. (PNA)
