Education champions from all over the country will convene for a conference on Accelerating Progress and Equity in Education on August 19 to 20.

Organized by good local governance advocate Synergeia Foundation, Inc., German political foundation Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung and KA Spaces, the virtual event will focus on the state of education in the Philippines during the pandemic and beyond.

Speakers on topics about re-imagining education, teaching and learning are officials of the Department of Education led by Undersecretary for Curriculum and Instruction, Honorable Diosdado San Antonio; and local government leaders and recipients of the Seal of Good Education Governance.

Filipino scientist, mathematician, and Jesuit who was the longest-serving university president of the Ateneo de Manila University Bienvenido Nebres, S.J. and Zuellig Family Foundation President Ernesto D. Garilao will share their insights on being game changers in education.

Synergeia Foundation President Dr. Milwida M. Guevara said she is grateful to Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Foundation (KAS) and KA Spaces for making this important education event happen.

KAS offers a wide variety of civic education conferences and events aimed at promoting freedom and liberty, peace, and justice.

“Now more than ever, education stakeholders especially those in local governments should come together and help our children and youth learn better in the new normal,” urged Guevara who is former Department of Finance Undersecretary and Gawad Haydee Yorac Awardee for outstanding contribution in the improvement of basic education.

Synergeia Chairman Jose Ramon Villarin, S.J. and Board Trustee Dr. Antonio Torralba of the University of Asia and the Pacific will likewise share their insights on post-COVID19 education and leadership in schools and communities. The event will end with a call to all to move education forward.
