The city health office (CHO) will conduct mobile vaccination activities this week as the city government targets to achieve population protection against coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Mayor Maria Isabelle Climaco-Salazar said Tuesday that the mobile vaccination will be conducted in strategic locations during both day and night time.

Salazar said that they plan to administer 19,000 doses of vaccines daily to reach the 70-percent desired mass population protection against Covid-19.

“The vaccines that we are giving to our constituents are free. Please do not be choosy, Whatever vaccine is available, take it,” Salazar said.

Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, the CHO chief, said Tuesday they accelerated vaccination rollout in health centers and other identified sites to further increase the number of vaccinees in this city.

CHO data showed that a total of 460,660 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered in this city since the vaccination rolled out in March this year.

Miravite said that 184,821 individuals, representing 26.6 percent of the target eligible population of 694,696, are now fully vaccinated.

“Most of those fully vaccinated are individuals with comorbidities at 61,793,” she said.

She said 275,839 have received their first dose of the vaccine.

They represent 39.7 percent of the target eligible population here, the health official added. (PNA)
