4. Wait For It To Subside Before You Evacuate

You won’t be able to stand during an earthquake of great magnitude, much less walk straight during one. During an earthquake, hide under objects made of strong material to avoid getting hit by debris such as shattered glass or heavy file cabinets falling. Once the shake subsides, coordinate with whoever you’re with and evacuate the building you’re in. Remember to cover your head with something of substance such as a thick book and NEVER use the elevator.
