The city government has granted PHP1.5 million cash incentives to two Zamboangueña weightlifters for their sterling performance during the Asian Youth and Junior Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from July 15 to 25 this year.

Mayor John Dalipe turned over checks Monday representing the city’s cash incentives to sisters Rose Jean and Rosegie Ramos and their coach, Allen Diaz.

Rose Jean, 16, who captured four gold, one silver, and one bronze medals in the 45-kilogram category received PHP650,000 as cash incentive.

Her elder sister, Rosegie, 18, who collected three gold medals, also received PHP375,000.

Diaz, for his part, received PHP512,500 as an incentive.

The grant of cash incentives for medal haulers in national and international competitions is based on City Ordinance 565. (PNA)
