Some 255 individuals are the latest beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers (TUPAD) program here, North Cotabato Governor Emmylou Taliño-Mendoza said Monday.

In a statement, the governor said the TUPAD recipients will work from July 7-20 for the completion of their community labor scheme.

“Beneficiaries of the program will receive PHP3,520 each based on the current minimum wage of PHP352 per day in the region,” Mendoza said.

The provincial government has earlier allotted PHP897,600 for the new batch of TUPAD workers.

Mendoza said TUPAD will be one of North Cotabato’s priority program to aid those who lost their jobs from the pandemic.

TUPAD is a flagship program of the Department of Labor and Employment launched at the height of the coronavirus pandemic to aid those who lost their employment as a result of work closures.

TUPAD is now implemented in the province in partnership with the provincial government and the office of Senator Nancy Binay. (PNA)
