Love overflowed in Bacolod, Davao, and Cagayan de Oro as Filipinos received a fiesta of medical, dental, and special services through ABS-CBN’s “Kapamilya Love Weekend.”

The public service caravan, done in part of the network’s 65th year celebration, offered free health check-ups, medicines, and other special services to over 5,000 Kapamilyas, who went home with smiles on their faces.

In Bacolod, the people enjoyed hearty servings, free haircut and massage, while some found jobs in the Trabaho Patrol job fair. Meanwhile, in Davao, there were breast and pre-natal exams, anemia screening, eye and ear check-ups, and free reading glasses. Residents of Cagayan de Oro (CDO) also availed of the free legal counseling, manicure and pedicure, rabies vaccination for cats and dogs, and held a bloodletting.

Among the beneficiaries of the “Kapamilya Love Weekend” is 80-year-old Margarita Mitsula of CDO, who was diagnosed with cataract in her left eye after taking the free eye screening at the event.

“I thought that my cloudy vision is only because of my old age. If not because of ‘Kapamilya Love Weekend,’ I would not know that I already have cataract,” Margarita said.

In Bacolod, Salvacion Balero, a Negrense nursing a limp, got to consult with a doctor without shelling out money, while Florencio Soledad, a Davaoneo brain aneurysm survivor, got free medicines for his maintenance.

Attendees of the “Kapamilya Love Weekend” were also showered with prizes from fun games and raffles, while Kapamilya stars took time off to help out in the event. Ejay Falcon and Cholo Barreto were in Bacolod, Joshua Garcia and Aljur Abrenica joined the Davao leg, and former “PBB” housemates Joj and Jai Agpangan went to CDO with Cholo.

“Nagpapasalamat naman ako siyempre sa ABS-CBN at sa ating mga Kapamilya na binigyan nila ng oras ang mga tao (I thank ABS-CBN and our Kapamilyas for giving time for the people),” “Sandugo” actor Ejay said.

“Kapamilya Love Weekend” is just one of the many public service activities launched and are being conducted by the company in its more than six decades of being in the service of the Filipino. It will continue to go to different barangays in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao this year as part of ABS-CBN’s anniversary celebration.
