The Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Sunday officially launched two new routes — Cebu-Zamboanga and Zamboanga-Tawi-Tawi.
The new routes expand the flag carrier’s network between Visayas and Mindanao and within Mindanao.
“There has been a clamor for convenient connectivity between these areas. With these air linkages now in place, the convenience and ease of travel between Cebu, Zamboanga, and Tawi-Tawi is now a reality,” PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna said.
Utilizing an 86-seater Dash8 fleet, the inaugural Cebu-Zamboanga route departed Mactan at 5:24 a.m. and landed Zamboanga at 6:24 a.m.
Flight PR 2486, on the other hand, took off from Tawi-Tawi at 10:03 a.m. and touched down Zamboanga at 11 a.m.
Cebu-Zamboanga and Zamboanga-Tawi-Tawi flights will be offered daily, according to PAL.
Meanwhile, the carrier is also set to launch a thrice-weekly flight between Zamboanga and Kota Kinabalu on March 29, 2020.
This will be offered every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, using an 86-seater Dash 8 Q400 aircraft.
Those who would like to fly this new route may take PAL’s Clark-Zamboanga or Cebu-Zamboanga flights, Villaluna said. (PNA)
