Traveling is one of the ways for families to bond and create great memories. This is one of the things that the Philippine Travel Agencies Association (PTAA) wants to highlight in its latest expo.

The 27th PTAA TravelTour Expo 2020 is slated at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia (MOA), Pasay City on February 7 to 9, 2020. The three-day event is working with the theme “More > Real”.

“This is the best year to travel given the long weekends. International travel has also become affordable thus we expect, not only millennials, but also professionals to be active tourists. C’mon, fly with us!” PTAA President Ritchie Tuaño said.

He added that they want to encourage more Filipinos to travel as a family. “After all, traveling is one of the best ways for a family to bond and rediscover each other. As you’re exploring new places, you have the chance to see you, family members in a new light. Perhaps, it’s only when you travel that you get to see their fun side.”

Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat was invited to deliver the keynote address.

More than 400 exhibitors from the travel agency and tourism enterprise industry are expected to participate in the event. There will be over 1,000 booths and up to 70 percent discounts on cruise lines, hotels, theme parks, and airline fares. The packages offered apply to solo and group travel.

Being the largest annual gathering on travel and tours –domestic or international– the three-day expo expects to welcome more than 100,000 guests.

Among those who are encouraged to attend the event are travel and tourism trade practitioners, corporate and business travelers, holiday travelers, incentive and convention planners, government and business leaders, direct buyers, and investors.

Some of the main sponsors of the event are Citibank, Turkish Airlines, Tourism Promotions Board-Department of Tourism, Tourism Malaysia, and PLDT.

General admission fee is at PHP70, including children and students, and PHP50 for senior citizens.

Meanwhile, corporate travelers will also participate in the 5th International TravelTrade Expo 2020, with some 30 participating countries expected to showcase travel and tour deals for the business-to-business category of the expo.

This event is exclusive to registered trade buyers and sellers happening on Feb. 2-4, 2020.

This is also an opportunity for travel and tour agencies to share cost-effective experiences with the assistance and guidance of their seasoned travel advisors. (PNA)
