The Land Transportation Office (LTO) said in a Network Briefing News on Wednesday, starting October 2021, they will offer a driver’s license that will be valid for up to 10 years. However, not everyone can avail of this offer, especially those who have remaining violations, as per Assistant Secretary Edgar Galvante. Only motorists who have remained obedient to the traffic laws shall get an incentive of a 10-year extension for their license.
In the recent network news briefing Asec.
Also, according to Asec. Galavnte the demerit points are classified into 3 categories: Grave violation, Less Grave violation, and Light violation. Grave Violation is equivalent to 5 demerit points, Less Grave Violation is to 3 demerit points, and Light Violation is to 1 demerit point. If you have accumulated several points during the validity of your license then you can receive impositions like fines or penalties which can include having a re-orientation as a driver.
So, if you have a valid license right now, better keep your records clean until October of 2021 in order to enjoy a 10-year validity soon.
