Following some complaints of slow-down or non-responsiveness of its contact-tracing web application (app), the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) on Monday said the issue is being fixed and will continue to get better until its full implementation next month.

In a Viber message, MRT-3 Operations Director Michael Capati said the issues on the MRT-3 Trace web app were caused by the high volume of users.

“Kapag sabay-sabay kasing ginamit ang MRT-3 Trace, bumabagal ang response time ng web application (When they use MRT-3 Trace all at the same time, the response time of the web app slows down),” Capati said.

To address the issue and improve the web app’s response time, he said the MRT-3 has begun migrating the web app’s data to a different server.

“As per Support Division, yes we expect better performance as we go on using the app,” Capati said.

The MRT-3 Trace web app began its “soft launch” on Monday, with full implementation of the app to begin in February.

On Wednesday, the MRT-3 will start accepting sign-ups for its MRT-3 Trace app that allows its users to provide contact tracing details using Google Chrome on their mobile devices.

Meant to reduce physical contact and replace manual forms and log sheets, the MRT-3 Trace can be accessed by visiting trace.dotrmrt3.gov.ph. (PNA)
