The nation’s total number of recovered coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases has reached 2,728,696 after 3,510 new recoveries were reported on Monday.

In its latest case bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) noted that recoveries account for 97.3 percent of the total case count which has reached 2,805,294 since the start of the pandemic last year.

Meanwhile, some 2,087 new infections brought the total number of active cases nationwide to 32,077 — lower than Sunday’s 33,526 active cases.

About 64.7 percent of these active cases are mild, 5.8 percent are asymptomatic, 4 percent are critical, 9.5 percent are severe, and 16.09 percent are moderate.

Some 91 new deaths were reported which brought the country’s Covid-19 fatalities to 44,521.

According to DOH data on November 6, about 5.2 percent of 43,206 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.

“Six duplicates were removed from the total case count, and of these, five are recoveries. Moreover, 66 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” it added.

All laboratories were operational on Nov. 6 while eight laboratories were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.

The DOH noted the eight non-reporting laboratories contribute, on average, 0.8 percent of samples tested, and 1.2 percent of positive individuals based on data in the last 14 days.

To date, 43 percent of 4,000 intensive care unit beds, 31 percent of 20,300 isolation beds, 24 percent of 14,000 ward beds, and 25 percent of 3,200 ventilators are utilized by patients with Covid-19 nationwide.

Meanwhile, 40 percent of 1,400 intensive care unit beds, 28 percent of 4,500 isolation beds, 25 percent of 4,100 ward beds, and 26 percent of 1,000 ventilators dedicated to patients with Covid-19 are in use in the National Capital Region. (PNA)
