The City Health Office rolled out Monday the second vaccine booster dose for all eligible population aged 18 and above in this southern port city.

Dr. Dulce Amor Miravite, city health officer, said this came after the new guidelines opening the second booster dose to all eligible individuals have been recently released by the Department of Health (DOH).

Miravite said they provide Pfizer and Sinovac vaccines for first booster dose and Pfizer vaccine for second booster dose.

“We have sufficient vaccines as the DOH regularly replenishes our stocks,” she said.

She also reiterated the importance of vaccination as well as the need to continue following health protocols due to the threat of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19).

Meanwhile, Mayor John Dalipe urged all eligible population to get their second booster dose for added protection against Covid-19 which remains ever present.

Dalipe earlier tasked the City Health Office to further intensify booster vaccination rollout and to conduct mobile vaccination in City Hall offices starting Monday, Nov. 14, to encourage all employees to get vaccine booster.

Dalipe’s rice for booster incentive program continues in vaccination sites set up at three night markets – Rizal Street downtown, Baban Drive in Barangay Baliwasan, and Integrated Bus Terminal in Barangay Divisoria.

Miravite said they have so far administered 239,211 first booster doses and 30,304 second booster doses. (PNA)
