Travelers no longer need to worry about filling out multiple forms at the airport, thanks to the upgraded e-Travel system that allows passengers to obtain clearances faster.

This new version, launched by the Bureau of Customs (BOC) in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the Department of Migrant Workers, enables passengers to generate a single QR code for a more streamlined travel experience.

With this upgrade, the clearance process will be smoother, and waiting times will be reduced, as the need for multiple forms and checkpoints is minimized.

The e-Travel pass includes essential features such as the Customs Baggage Declaration Form, Currency Declaration Form, and the Overseas Employment Certificate for overseas Filipino workers.

The BOC states that the new version will promote “inter-agency coordination” with “real-time data sharing” and improved “monitoring of travel flows.”

Through timely and accurate information for pertinent authorities, the enhanced data integration can assist in national security measures and public health risk management.

As a “digital single data collection platform” for “border control, health surveillance, and economic data analysis,” filling out and updating the system is mandatory for those entering and exiting the Philippines within three days prior to their trip.

The DICT first launched the e-Travel system in December 2022, aiming to simplify the travel processes for passengers.

In addition to airplane passengers, the enhanced system will also speed up the registration process for those traveling by boats and cruises.
