The team of Ogie Alcasid, Kim Chiu, Lassy,and MC Muah emerged as the grand champion of the Magpasikat competition on “It’s Showtime” on Saturday (October 26) as their performance about taking time to rest and breathe earned the highest score from the judges.

For her third Magpasikat win, Kim said she was not expecting to be named as the champion and was content to be able to perform their routine well after the struggles her team faced.

“Hindi namin inexpect kasi sabi namin hashtag acceptance bahala na basta nagawa namin yung prod namin. Malaking bonus na lang manalo,” she said.

Meanwhile, Ogie expressed his happiness on his first Magpasikat win as well as the good reception of the viewers’ on their performance.

“I’m just proud of all of them lalo na sa staff namin kasi binuhos talaga namin. We left it on the floor and let our works speak for ourselves. Masaya kami kapag nababasa namin ung comments na naintindihan nila yung gusto namin sabihin. More than anything else yung makuha nila yung message namin na ‘tigil, kalma, pahinga’ eh napaka-importante talaga,” he explained.

Aside from the team’s message of ‘tigil, kalma, pahinga,’ the viewers were also amazed by the death defying trapeze stunt of Kim, the performance of Ogie playing the piano on a revolving platform and the difficult stunts of MC and Lassy. They won P300,000 which they will give to the victims of typhoon Kristine through the Angat Buhay foundation.

Taking home the second place was the team of Jhong Hilario, Jackie Gonzaga, and Cianne Dominguez who shed light on the importance of mental health. The team won P200,000 for their chosen charity. The team of Anne Curtis, Jugs Jugueta, and Teddy Corpuz got third place and won ₱100,000 after they recalled the show’s core memories throughout its fifteen years. Meanwhile, the team of Vice Ganda, Karylle Tatlonghari-Yuzon, Ryan Bang who highlighted hope in their performance and the team of Vhong Navarro, Ion Perez, Darren Espanto, and Amy Perez who urged the people to do good respectively won P50,000 for their chosen charities.

This year’s Magpasikat judges were television and film director Rory Quintos, actress and beauty queen Alice Dixson, Kapamilya actor Donny Pangilinan, Kapuso actress Gabbi Garcia, and former ABS-CBN president and Pilipinas Got Talent judge Freddie M. Garcia.

Before the magpasikat announcement, the hosts thanked bosses of ABS-CBN and GMA and also shared their messages for their 15th anniversary.

Netizens also tuned in to the much anticipated announcement of the winner of the Magpasikat 2024 as its hashtag #ItsShowtimeKinseyyy trended worldwide and garnered 369,498 peak concurrent views.
