The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Mobile Service program has served more than 55,000 clients in the Bicol region, enhancing accessibility and providing convenience to professionals, particularly those in island provinces.

During Tuesday’s Kapihan sa Bagong Pilipinas, PRC-5 Regional Director Sharo Lo cited the mobile service as a key initiative under the Bagong Pilipinas program, to deliver essential services to professionals in remote areas like Masbate and Catanduanes.

“One of our priority programs under the Bagong Pilipinas initiative is the PRC Mobile Service. The mobile services bring PRC offerings closer to professionals, especially in remote or underserved areas, making it easier for them to access services without the need to travel to PRC offices,” Lo said.

He said PRC-Bicol has conducted nine mobile service events so far.

“By reducing the need for travel and long wait times, mobile services save professionals both time and money, making it more cost-effective for them to utilize the PRC’s services,” Lo added.

The PRC has partnered with the Social Security System (SSS) for the KaSSSangga Collect Program as part of an employee welfare initiative.

“This program aims to provide our job order workers and their families with social security coverage from the SSS, including benefits for sickness, maternity, unemployment, retirement, disability, death, funeral expenses, and various loan programs,” Lo said.

He added the partnership reflects an increasing recognition of the need to expand social security coverage for all workers in the public sector, especially those in precarious employment situations, and demonstrates the commitment to the employees’ welfare program.

“We pledge our continuous support to the Bagong Pilipinas Initiative of the President, which showcases exemplary public service to the Filipino people,” Lo said. (PNA)
