On the official Instagram page of the renowned film festival, the Cannes Film Festival featured a photo of Jaclyn Jose in 2016, when she received the Best Actress Award for her groundbreaking role in Brillante Mendoza’s ‘Ma’ Rosa.’ In the photo, the legendary actress is seen together with her eccentric Cannes trophy, and a youthful look and smile are evident on her face as well.

The caption expresses how the renowned international film fest is mourning the passing of Jaclyn Jose. With heartfelt reverence, they truly recognize the legacy that the actress has achieved throughout her career in the entertainment industry.

Jaclyn Jose was a remarkable actress in the past decades, portraying strong-willed personalities and antagonistic characters in various films and shows, such as Service (2008), Patay Na Si Hesus (2013), and FPJ’s Batang Quiapo (2023). According to the actress’ daughter, Andi Eigenmann, Jaclyn Jose, known by her birth name, Mary Jane Guck, tragically passed away due to a heart attack. Her death occurred on March 2, 2024, marking the end of her remarkable life at the age of 59.
