The Police Regional Office-Bicol (PRO-5) has provided 14,700 liters of clean and potable water using water desalination equipment to more than 600 families affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name Trami) in Albay and Camarines Sur provinces.

Lt. Col. Malu Calubaquib, PRO-5 spokesperson, said the Regional Mobile Force Battalion (RMFB) are operating the water desalination equipment, traveling from one village to another to address the urgent need for clean drinking water.

“Beneficiaries include families living in evacuation centers as well as those who have returned to their homes. We prioritize barangays identified as needing water,” Calubaquib said.

The barangays that were already served by the water equipment included those in Oas and Polangui in Albay, and Nabua in Camarines Sur.

“We remain dedicated to reaching more communities, ensuring a continuous supply of safe, clean water to help families recover and rebuild,” Calubaquib added. (PNA)
