The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) will expedite projects in the National Capital Region (NCR) under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s flagship Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) program.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Rizalino Acuzar said apart from ongoing 4PH projects in Metro Manila, more are in the advanced stages of construction and development in other regions, according to a news release Sunday.

The turnover of actual housing units under 4PH has already started and is continuing in the cities of Palayan and Bacolod.

Meanwhile, 4H projects in San Mateo, Rizal, City of San Fernando in Pampanga, Davao City, and Tagoloan in Misamis Oriental are now preparing for turnover to beneficiaries.

“Habang nagte-turnover na tayo sa mga natatapos na 4PH buildings, tuluy-tuloy naman po ang construction ng iba pang projects. Kaya, masasabi natin na buo na po ang formula. May malinaw na tayo na proofs of concept ng 4PH — iyang mga natatapos at nate-turn over na housing units (While we are turning over the completed 4PH buildings, construction of other projects continues. So, we can say that the formula is complete, we now have clear proofs of concept of 4PH — those completed and housing units that were turned over),” Acuzar said.

“Dito sa NCR, may mga nasimulan na rin tayo na mga 4PH projects. Tututukan po natin ‘yan upang mapabilis dahil dito may pinakamaraming informal settler families [ISFs]. Sila po ang priority natin dito (Here in the NCR, we have already started 4PH projects. We will focus on that to accelerate it because this is where the largest number of informal settler families are. They are our priorities here).”

Acuzar said DHSUD has identified priority blighted areas in NCR that are envisioned to be transformed into sustainable township developments.

The ongoing 4PH projects in Metro Manila are in Caloocan City, Manila, Quezon City and San Juan City.

In Pasay City, the DHSUD has already established a staging area that will temporarily shelter ISFs who will eventually benefit from the 4PH project.

Other NCR local government units which have already signed memoranda of understanding with DHSUD to join 4PH are Pasig, Muntinlupa, Mandaluyong, Marikina, Navotas, Parañaque, Valenzuela and Malabon.

Before the Holy Week break, Acuzar inspected the Port Town Housing Project in Parola, Tondo, Manila. He was accompanied by Pag-IBIG Fund chief Marilene Acosta and Social Housing Finance Corporation president Federico Laxa.

Acuzar proceeded to a 4H project site in Quezon City, before directing those in charge to expedite the construction without compromising quality and standards. (PNA)
