The Department of Transportation (DOTr) issues a statement in reponse to claims made by Angkas on loss of jobs for its riders, clarifying key points and emphasizing its mandate as a government agency to ensure the overall welfare of the motorcycle taxi-riding public as well as fair play in the industry in general.

The agency’s Technical Working Group (TWG) emphasizes that all issues related to the new mode of transport are still being studied “with only the best interest of the riding public in mind.”
