Educator, newspaper columnist, and spiritual adviser Father Tito Caluag introduced his first book, “Give Thanks and Praise,” a collection of prayers and devotions published by ABS-CBN Books aimed at bringing inspiration and encouragement to readers.
The new read, launched last Tuesday (November 12) at the Sacred Heart Chapel in Powerplant Mall, features an extensive collection of traditional Catholic prayers. It also includes prayers for personal intentions, prayers for healing, and prayers for special occasions and blessing accounts written by the ABS-CBN chaplain.
Three more reads of the same kind, also by Fr. Tito, are slated to be released next year—a guide on Holy Week, a book on love, courtship and marriage, and a book of retentions.
“In the end, our prayer is [that] these collections, this line of inspirational and spiritual books, would lead all of us back to pray. I’m convinced that prayer lies at the center of our lives. And hopefully prayers will guide us in everything that we do,” Fr. Tito said.
ABS-CBN’s head of print publishing Mark Yambot emphasized how gratifying it was to finally publish a book like this one as the company further branches out its diverse range of reads. “ABS-CBN Books is more known for its popular fiction and humor titles, so it gives our team such a feeling of fulfillment whenever we publish books that inspire and uplift the human spirit,” he shared.
Couple Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo, together with their daughter Luna, supported the launch by reading some of the prayers found in the book. Also part of the program were former “PBB Otso” housemate Rhys Miguel Eugenio, who read “St. Ignatius’ Prayer for Generosity,” and Michael Shimamoto who sang “Peace Prayer of St. Francis.”
Father Tito is now part of the roster of inspiring authors under ABS-CBN Books, the publishing arm of the country’s leading media and entertainment company, ABS-CBN, which continues to bring the Kapamilya experience in print with its extensive fiction, nonfiction, movie-based, self-help, and motivational reads.
