A former prima ballerina suffering from Alzheimer’s was taken back to her youth through the power of music.

Marta C. González is touching the hearts of viewers across the world through a video where she danced to Swan Lake by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. Upon hearing the music, the former prima ballerina was transformed into the graceful ballerina that she was in 1967. And props to the power of music, her disability and illness immediately dissipated once she listened to the reminiscent song.

Transitioning the clips to the 1967 and 2019, González showed that she still vividly remembered the choreography of the performance she once mastered.

According to uploader Música para Despertar, a Spanish organization that makes use of music for patients with memory loss, dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. And upon seeing the viral video, it was proven to be effective with González.

Despite suffering from memory loss, González has proven that her passion lives in her mind even though decades have passed.

Marta C. González passed away in 2019. However, just like her ballet performance years back, she remains as glorious in the hearts and minds of her viewers.
