ABS-CBN Music’s JMKO is emerging to become one of the most popular local musicians in the international video-sharing app TikTok with the success of his virtual concert #JMKOSessions last October 9.

More than 103.6K viewers tuned in to the singer-songwriter’s exclusive digital treat—produced by Star Music in partnership with TikTok—which also served as the official launch of his version of Jay R’s R&B classic “Bakit Pa Ba.”

“I’m still pretty overwhelmed by the support from TikTok and Star Music considering it’s my first time doing a livestream. I’m glad I got to at least give back to my supporters on Tiktok through my performances,” said JMKO, who has 1.8 million followers and over 22 million likes on TikTok.

Meanwhile, JMKO’s version of “Bakit Pa Ba” also received solid support from Spotify Philippines. He was featured as the cover of “Pinoy Covers,” an editorial playlist where his single placed number 1. The song was also featured in “New Music Friday” and “Pinoy Vibes” editorial playlists.

Asked about what’s next for him, he said, “Aside from being chosen to be one of the interpreters of Himig 11th edition which I’m so excited about, I’d always be open for collaborations with fellow Pinoy artists and hopefully — even international singers especially the ones I met through Tiktok!”

His previous music releases include the emotional ballad “Aahon” and “Timeless” featuring Miss Universe Philippines 2019 Gazini Ganados.

Stream JMKO’s latest single “Bakit Pa Ba” on Spotify, Apple Music, and other digital music platforms. For updates, like Star Music on Facebook and follow it on Twitter and Instagram (@StarMusicPH).
