The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Wednesday urged its workers, especially field personnel, to keep wearing face masks outdoors for their own protection.
In a memorandum, MMDA acting chair Carlo Dimayuga III said wearing face masks protects individuals not only from Covid-19 but also from pollution.
“All employees are urged to wear masks even outdoors, especially field personnel, for their own protection,” Dimayuga said.
The memorandum also called on MMDA personnel to keep strict adherence to minimum health protocols such as physical distancing.
Dimayuga also encouraged the public to keep wearing face masks outdoors and in open spaces.
On Monday, Malacañang released Executive Order No. 3 allowing the voluntary wearing of face masks in outdoor settings, particularly in open spaces and non-crowded outdoor areas with good ventilation.
The order still requires face masks to be worn in indoor private or public establishments — including public transportation by land, air, or sea — and in outdoor settings where physical distancing and good ventilation cannot be maintained. (PNA)
