Miss Universe Philippines (MUP) revealed its 2020 crown called the “Filipina”, to celebrate its first ever victor under a new organization.

The Villaricas, who have a chain of pawnshops all over the country, made the prestigious crown. They expressed their gratitude saying, “We are very grateful to them for stepping up to the challenge of creating this masterpiece.”

On the first glance of the crown, the topaz, rubies and sapphires resembling the Philippine flag will immediately be seen. The sparkling diamonds―patterned as leaves―symbolizes a woman’s journey to seek for success. At the highest points of the crown are the yellow pearls, the perfect final element that also complements the other beautiful stones, completing the masterpiece.

The materials used to bring this crown to life are undoubtedly precious, but the process is also as wonderful because an all-female staff assembled all these stones with their magical hands to produce this crown.

The 2020 Miss Universe Philippines Crown. The crown represents the achievement of one’s mind over body as a Filipina. It will be a symbol of triumph over one’s journey of trials, hard work and perseverance in obtaining one’s dream. A dream that has become a reality that would inhabit her mind, heart and spirit. The elements of the FILIPINA crown reflect the true meaning of womanhood. The swirl of leaves are like the lives of every woman who seeks success in different forms yet still keeps the Filipino values in their hearts. Every diamond embedded in each leaf lusters like smiles that sparkle the lives of people that she encounters. The yellow pearls express creativity, intelligence, optimism and fear of God – characteristics that make every Filipina a gem in her family.
