More Filipino families get to enjoy their favorite shows with a clearer television viewing experience via ABS-CBN TVplus, which has sold 8.9 million boxes as of November 2019.

Based on Kantar Media data in November 2019, 81% of Metro Manila homes without cable now have ABS-CBN TVplus as 75% Mega Manila homes with no cable now have TVplus. In the suburbs, 69% of homes with no cable in the suburbs now have TVplus.

“Millions of Filipinos are now benefitting from the features of TVplus at home. TVplus has raised the standards in TV viewing in the Philippines,” Charles Lim, ABS-CBN head of Access said.

Since 2015, the company has been at the forefront in complying with the government’s mandate to shut down analog broadcast and shift to digital.

ABS-CBN TVplus also offers more channels, with a line-up that includes ABS-CBN S+A, DZMM Teleradyo, Knowledge Channel, CineMo, YeY, with the latter two now occupying the spots of the third and fourth most-watched channels respectively, according to the latest data from Kantar Media.

In 2018, it expanded its users’ viewing choices with the launch of Asianovela Channel, and Movie Central plus Jeepney TV, MYX, and O Shopping.

This year, ABS-CBN TVplus added more public service features on top of the Emergency Warning Broadcast System through partnerships with PAGASA (Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration), MMDA (Metro Manila Development Authority), and NDRRMC (National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council), to give Filipinos access to real-time updates on weather, traffic, and disaster.

It now also issues advisories on work and class suspensions as well as prices of commodities with the help of ABS-CBN News. Meanwhile, in partnership with TrabaHanap, it helps Filipinos looking for jobs with job alerts. The enhanced user experience also include TVplus updates and the weekly KBO (Kapamilya Box Office) schedules.

In June 2019, ABS-CBN gave Filipinos on-the-go the chance to watch ABS-CBN TVplus’ shows as it introduced the mobile version of TVplus called ABS-CBN TVplus Go, which turns Android smartphones into pocket television devices.

ABS-CBN TVplus currently has 16 coverage areas including Metro Manila, Bulacan, Batangas, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, Rizal, Laguna, Pampanga, Tarlac, Benguet, Cavite, Metro Cebu, Cagayan De Oro, Iloilo, Bacolod, and Davao.
