The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) will provide free rides for all persons with disabilities from July 17 to 23 in celebration of the 43rd National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) week.

In a Facebook post on Friday, the MRT-3 said PWDs may avail of the free service from 7 to 9 a.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. within the said period.

Persons who wish to avail of the service will need to present their PWD identification card to MRT-3 security personnel before they enter a station.

“Kaisa ang buong hanay ng MRT-3 sa pagkilala at pagsulong ng mga karapatan ng mga kapatid nating PWD (The entire MRT-3 support awareness and the development of rights for PWDs),” the MRT-3 said.

The National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA) leads the observance of the NDPR week from July 17 to 23, 2021 pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 1870, s. 1979 as amended by Presidential Proclamation No. 361, s. 2000 and Administrative Order No. 35, s. 2002.

With the theme “Kalusugan at Kaunlaran ng Pilipinong may Kapansanan, Isulong sa Gitna ng Pandemya,” the event will focus on the health and economic empowerment of PWDs during the Covid-19 pandemic. (PNA)
