A new adventure and waterpark in Valencia, Negros Oriental is expected to draw more tourists and stimulate local economic activity.

The Mango Ranch Waterpark, a privately developed eight-hectare facility, features the province’s first wave pool and lazy river.

It includes five swimming pools, slides and outdoor activities such as go-karting, all-terrain vehicle rides, and guided visits to nearby natural sites like Casaroro Falls and Pulangbato Falls.

The park also offers paramotor aerial tours, cabanas for day use and food outlets.

Its inauguration Friday coincided with graduation season and management announced limited-time discounts for graduates.

The official opening is set this weekend.

Edward Du, president of the Negros Oriental Chamber of Commerce and Industry, welcomed the project as a timely investment that could enhance the province’s tourism profile.

“Tourism is our way forward,” Du said, emphasizing the potential for job creation and increased investment, particularly in Valencia.

The project was initiated by Louie and Sabrina Tijing of Philsouth Properties and Development Corporation.

“This is the place where you can pause, relax, and this is where you can hear the water flowing and the laughter flying about,” Sabrina said in an interview with the local media on Friday. (PNA)
