ABS-CBN Books has launched “Hello Hallyu,” the very first local-based fan book on Korean culture that celebrates Filipinos’ fandom of all forms of Hallyu in the country— K-pop, K-drama, K-beauty, K-fashion, and K-food.

“Hello Hallyu” explores the history and enduring popularity of Korean wave in the Philippines. Inside its colorful pages are exclusive interviews and photographs of some of the most popular Korean artists in the country.

Avid K-pop and K-drama lovers will be thrilled to find Park Bo Gum, EXO, Momoland, and Noir on the book’s varying covers. These personalities are featured as they embody Hallyu’s artistry, aesthetic, and multifaceted branding, which earned the admiration of many Pinoys.

Readers will also discover that the insights were written in a fangirl’s perspective as the new book is authored by a certified and long-standing Hallyu enthusiast, Aya Villareal, who is also the co-founder of FanLive, one of the companies that brings Korean acts in the country.

“I’ve been enjoying K-Pop since 2005. It brought out the best and worst in me and I was truly appreciative of each experience that I had. I know that many of the long-standing K-pop fans like myself know of this journey,” she said.

Aya also shared how the local fandom has evolved over the years. “The community has grown from a simple group of fans sharing the same interest into a multimillion peso industry involving concerts, events, brand endorsements, and commercial products. It surely has been a long ride since its humble beginnings around 2003,” she added.

ABS-CBN Books was able to create this first of its kind book through the support and collaboration with ABS-CBN Events, Nature Republic, Ovation Productions, MLD Entertainment, KPOPCON, PKCI, and FanLive.

Avid fans and casual readers can now add “Hello Hallyu” in their Korean merch collection as it is now available through ABS-CBN Books’ online stores: ABS-CBN Books Facebook page, Lazada, and Shopee.
