The nation’s total number of recovered coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) cases has reached 2,758,235 after 3,152 new recoveries were reported on Sunday.

In its latest case bulletin, the Department of Health (DOH) noted that recoveries account for 97.6 percent of the total case count which has reached 2,826,410 since the start of the pandemic last year.

Meanwhile, some 2,227 new infections brought the total number of active cases nationwide to 21,101.

About 56.9 percent of these active cases are mild, 4.4 percent are asymptomatic, 5.5 percent are critical, 13 percent are severe, and 20.30 percent are moderate.

The DOH also tallied 175 new deaths, bringing the country’s Covid-19 fatalities to 47,074.

According to DOH data on Nov. 19, about 2.8 percent of 39,874 who were tested turned out positive for Covid-19.

“About 125 duplicates were removed from the total case count, and of these, 107 are recoveries and 4 are deaths. Moreover, 147 cases that were previously tagged as recoveries were reclassified as deaths after final validation,” it added.

All laboratories were operational on Nov. 19 while two laboratories were not able to submit their data to the Covid-19 Document Repository System.

The DOH noted the two non-reporting laboratories contribute, on average, 1.5 percent of samples tested, and 0.5 percent of positive individuals based on data in the last 14 days.

To date, 31 percent of 3,700 intensive care unit beds, 28 percent of 19,800 isolation beds, 18 percent of 13,300 ward beds, and 18 percent of 3,100 ventilators are utilized by patients with Covid-19 nationwide.
