Wrapping up his journey this year, prominent Philippine tennis player Francis Alcantara aced another world title on his record after showing an exceptional performance on the recent tennis tour in Malaysia.

On December 2, the International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Tennis Tour conducted its finals in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, for the KL M15 category.

Among the athletes who participated was Pinoy tennis player Alcantara, who was paired up with Indonesian athlete and tennis star Christopher Rungkat.

During their match with the Netherlands’ Thijmen Loof and Thailand’s Pruchya Isaro, the duo was able to smash them with thrilling scores of 6-4 and 6-2. The powerful duo of Alcantara and Rungkat gave chills to their opponent after defeating them in just an hour and 12 minutes.

With their recent win, the Filipino athlete expressed his gratitude to his partner during the match and for the unwavering support of the Pinoys, which also gave him a boost in getting the world title.

“Great way to finish the year with a back-to-back title with the King of Indonesia, Christopher Rungkat. Thank you for the great two weeks here in Malaysia, Papa. See you soon! ,” he said in his Facebook post.

This year, the Filipino athlete has won two notable ITF titles after winning the men’s doubles gold with Ruben Gonzalez at the Southeast Asian Games last May. With this, his rank on the overall tennis record is expected to rise, while the athlete is currently eyeing his competition in Thailand in January 2024.
