The “Kaabag sa Kahayag” lighting project of the Perpetual Help Community Cooperative Inc. (PHCCI) is well underway in providing solar lamps in remote barangays of Negros Oriental.

Cliffordson Lariosa, PHCCI chief executive officer, said in a press conference here Wednesday that the project has provided solar lamps to various requesting parties across the province and continues to implement the program.

“A resolution from the barangay that needs lighting is required so that the cooperative can provide a budget for the procurement of the solar lamps,” Lariosa said in mixed English and Cebuano.

The cooperative will send a team to conduct an ocular inspection in the barangay to determine the number of solar lamps needed, he added.

He urged those interested to take advantage of this program while there are still funds available.

For this year, PHCCI has installed solar lamps in some barangays in the towns of San Jose, Dauin, Sibulan, Siaton, Valencia and Bacong, among others.

The project is part of the cooperative’s five-year development plan which will culminate in 2025. (PNA)
