Taal Eruption Relief Operations: Where And How To Help?

Relief and rescue operations for the Taal Volcano eruption and ashfall are ongoing to those affected residents in Batangas and Cavite. Several government agencies encouraged for sending donations to assist the victims and evacuees.

Department of Social Welfare and Development or DSWD called for those who wanted to help and volunteer in the relief operations. Look through the details below via their Twitter account.

The Calabrazon chapter of DSWD are also reaching out for donation of goods and items and for volunteers for the repacking of goods for the affected families. You may refer to their Twitter posts below how to donate and/or volunteer.

The Cavite Chapter of the Philippine Red Cross is currently receiving relief goods for victims of the eruption. Those willing to donate may drop goods in the National College of Science & Technology at Amafel Building, Aguinaldo Highway, Dasmarinas, Cavite.

PRC chairman and Senator Richard Gordon encourages those residing in Cavite and Laguna to donate essentials such as facemasks, towel, bottled water, easy-open canned goods, cup noodles, coffee sachets, cleaning materials, hygiene kits, blankets and mattresses.

On the other hand, the provincial government of Batangas are opening for donations to relief operations. Donors can bring them to the Provincial Sports Complex, Bolbok, Batangas City. Cash donors are also welcome. Please look through the post for more details.

Caritas Manila also calls for donations, including food packs, clear water, water containers, cleaning materials, sleeping mats, blankets, mosquito nets, flashlights, rechargeable batteries, and emergency lamps, hygienic items, medical kits and N95 facemasks. Willing donors may give upon clicking the link in their Facebook post or drop them at the Caritas Manila Office on 2002 Jesus St., Pandacan, Manila.

The Rotaract Clubs of Rotary International District 3800 also calls for in-kind donations like N95 facemasks, functional clothes, blankets, slippers, food packs, drinkable water, flashlights with Batteries, Medicines and hygiene kits. Relief goods will go to the Rotaract Club of San Pedro and Rotaract Club of Taal-Lemery for distribution.

Even the non-government organization People for Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) got in to assist rescue operations for trapped animals in the affected areas around Taal. They are calling for items like telescopes, dog and cat food, facemasks, leashes and collars. See their FB post for full details.
