The city government of Taguig will commence midnight vaccination anytime next week and eventually extend to 24-hour operations.

The Bonifacio High Street mega hub will exclusively cater to the inoculation of government and economic front-liners under the A4 priority group.

Mayor Lino Cayetano said the move is in response to President Rodrigo Duterte’s call to open vaccination sites even at night.

“There should be not much concern about workers getting vaccinated beyond curfew hours. They can simply show their appointment slips to the enforcers if needed,” Cayetano told the media via Viber chat on Sunday.

All appointments can be arranged via TRACE (Taguig Registry for Access and Citizen Engagement).

TRACE kiosks are also set up in all villages and selected malls for those unable to sign up online.

“Vaccination should be fast, safe, and accessible. Those three things are important to us when we strategize our rollout plan. I encourage all our citizens to sign up and register so that by November, with supply from the national government, we will be able to finish vaccination in Taguig and open up to the rest of the National Capital Region,” Cayetano said.

Some 238,853 residents and workers have been vaccinated in Taguig as of Saturday, nearly half of its 680,000 target this year. (PNA)
