Tropical storm Ursula (Phanfone) has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday morning.

In its 8 a.m. forecast, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said from Tuesday to Wednesday, moderate to heavy rains is expected over Dinagat Islands, Siargao and Bucas Grande Islands, Eastern Visayas, Sorsogon, Masbate, Romblon, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, Guimaras, and the northern portions of Cebu and Negros Occidental.

Light to moderate with intermittent heavy rains is expected over Quezon and the rest of Visayas, Bicol Region and Surigao del Norte.

Ursula is forecast to gradually intensify to at most severe tropical storm category prior to landfall over Eastern Visayas tomorrow afternoon or evening.

At 7 a.m., the center of Ursula was estimated based on all available data at 900 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur. It is moving west northwest at 25 kms. per hour with maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal number 1 is hoisted in these areas:

Eastern Samar
Dinagat Islands
insular municipalities of Surigao del Norte (Burgos, Sta. Monica, San Isidro, San Benito, Del Carmen, Pilar, Dapa, Gen. Luna, Socorro).

Metro Manila temperature ranges from 21-33 degrees Celsius; Tuguegarao City 21-30 degrees Celsius; Baguio City 15-24 degrees Celsius; SBMA 23-31 degrees Celsius; Lipa City 29-31 degrees; Metro Cebu 24-30 degrees Celsius; and Metro Davao 24-31 degrees Celsius. (PNA)
