Christiana Afia Yeboah, 23, the Iska who rode “Angkas” just to make it in time for an oath-taking ceremony, was revealed to be a candidate of the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 on July 19.

Yeboah is a Filipina-Ghanian who studied at UP Diliman and graduated as a Cum Laude.

She went viral last December 2019 when Angkas, a Manila based motorcycle delivery company, posted a photo of her on Twitter, riding a motorcycle wearing an elegant gown just to catch up to the oath-taking ceremony of Geodetic Engineers’ Board Passers.

Netizens found her amusing and joked about the viral incident naming different parallel scenarios of the photo. Her identity was later on revealed by user Genesis (@_genebro) telling everyone the story behind the viral post.

On July 19, Miss Universe Philippines revealed the full list of the candidates and Yeboah was one of them.

UP geodetic engineer clubs were proud to have one of their members join the pageant and represent their community, posting their support for the beauty queen.

She now joins the other 99 candidates in the next Miss Universe Philippines that will commence on the 25th of September.

All the 100 delegates underwent an initial screening interview and have passed all the requirements of the competition. The next round of the competition will be a series of virtual challenges which can be done in their respective homes in accordance to the protocol amidst the pandemic.

The voting along with all the challenges are to be done and presented in the MUPh App.

The pageant will also come on KTX.ph with an exclusive digital experience which can be availed for PHP 599. The show covers the Preliminaries, Swimsuit and Evening Gown Competitions and the Extended Pageant Finals.
