The Aboitiz Group continues to provide relief to the victims of the recent 6.5 magnitude earthquake that hit Mindanao last October 31, and has so far donated about 39,500 relief packs and water to thousands of affected families.

The group’s Davao-based business units (BUs) — Cotabato Light and Power Company and Davao Light and Power Company– donated relief packs which included rice, canned goods, and noodles, among others.

These were turned over to the local government officials of Tulunan and Makilala in North Cotabato.

BU team members volunteered to pack relief goods with the help of various personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine National Police, and the local government units in North Cotabato.

Meanwhile, AboitizPower’s subsidiaries which include Hedcor, Therma South, Inc. (TSI) and Aboitiz Group’s food subsidiary Pilmico provided mosquito nets, mats, and blankets.

Bulk water supply BU Apo Agua, meanwhile, distributed a total of 1.7 million liters of water in Kidapawan City and the Municipality of Makilala.

The 27 affected barangays in Kidapawan City rely heavily on the water tankers provided by Apo Agua and the Aboitiz Foundation. The Metro Kidapawan Water District provides the water that fills up the water tankers at a much faster rate. (PR)
